Make Wevi videos from Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor

MCP is the plug that lets an AI assistant use a product's tools. Once Wevi is plugged in, your assistant can pick templates, capture pages from your product, write the script, render the video and hand you the link — while you approve each step in the chat.

• No coding. You set it up by pasting one address (or one key) and then talk to the assistant as usual.
• Your account, your videos. Everything the assistant makes lands in your Wevi account, where you can edit it in the studio.
• Credits, not surprises. The assistant spends the same credits the app does, and tells you before a big batch.

• A Wevi account — create one free. Free accounts include 10 credits, enough for a first short video.
• Your product's website address. Wevi reads the logo, colours and fonts from it, and the assistant captures real pages from it.
• For Claude and ChatGPT: nothing else. For Cursor, Claude Desktop or Claude Code: an API key from Profile → API Keys & MCP.

   Open Settings → Connectors

   In Claude, click your name or the gear icon, then Connectors.

   Add custom connector

   Name it Wevi and paste the address below. Click Add.

   Connect and allow

   Click Connect on the new Wevi card. A Wevi sign-in opens; sign in and click Allow. That's the whole setup.

   Turn it on in a chat

   Start a new chat, open the tools (+) menu and make sure Wevi is enabled. Then ask for a video.

   Turn on Developer mode

   Settings → Security and login → switch Developer mode on.

   Add Wevi

   Open the Plugins page, click the plus button and paste the Wevi address. Choose OAuth for authentication.

   Sign in and allow

   ChatGPT sends you to Wevi to sign in; click Allow to finish.

   Use it in a chat

   In a new chat, open the + menu, pick Developer mode and enable Wevi. ChatGPT asks you to confirm actions that create or render things — that's expected.

   Create an API key

   Go to Profile → API Keys & MCP in the Wevi app, click Create API Key and copy it. It is shown once.

   Add Wevi to the tool's MCP config

   In Cursor: Settings → MCP → Add new server, or edit the file directly. Replace the key with yours.

   Restart the tool

   Wevi appears in the tool list with 25 tools. Ask for a video in the chat panel.

   It plans

   The assistant checks what Wevi can do, drafts a storyboard (scenes, templates, narration) and shows it to you.

   It captures

   For scenes that show your real product, it opens the page in a private browser and lifts the parts it needs. If a page needs a login, it sends you a link to sign in — it never asks for your password.

   It renders

   Scenes render in the cloud and are joined with music and a voiceover. You get a link when the video is ready, and the project appears in your Wevi account for edits.

• Free accounts include 10 credits; Pro plans include a monthly allowance; packs can be bought any time from the app.
• A scene render is 1 credit. Exports are 1, 2 or 4 credits for 720p, 1080p or 4K. A storyboard draft or a page capture is 1 credit.
• Live browser sessions for captures are free for the first 5 minutes, then 1 credit per 5 minutes.
• Connectors and API keys spend the same credits as the app — there is no separate bill.

Current balance, costs and packs are always visible in Profile → API Keys & MCP, and the assistant can check them for you with one question.

The same key works with the REST API: list templates, create a project with scenes, capture pages, publish and poll (or get a signed callback), then download the MP4. The MCP server is open source on npm as @wevi/mcp, and the remote server at mcp.wevi.ai speaks standard MCP over HTTPS with OAuth 2.1.

• Never share passwords with an assistant. When a page needs a login, the assistant gives you a private link to sign in yourself.
• Approve what matters. Claude and ChatGPT ask before actions that create, change or render; read-only steps (listing templates, checking credits) run quietly.
• Disconnect any time. Remove the connector in the assistant's settings or revoke the key in Wevi; access stops immediately.
